More easy "to do's" for fat loss

Just yesterday I shared with you some pretty simple, but extremely EFFECTIVE strategies for easily and quickly reaching your health and weight goals. It’s really a “must do” checklist of sorts (and don’t worry, it’s not difficult at all).

Today I’ve got 2 more to add to our list that you may have heard before, but again, I ask you “Are you implementing these easy strategies into your life?”  If the answer is NO, what’s getting in your way?
  1. Exercise does not always mean going to the gym.  Here is something I had a really difficult time embracing after I had my first son.  I was so used to going to the gym in the morning, chatting with my fellow early morning gym goers, and getting in a great 30-45 minute workout while I was there.  But all of that drastically changed once my son was born.  My schedule was completely turned upside down and getting to the gym seemed nearly impossible.  Instead of throwing in the towel and giving up, I had to get creative and think of new exercise strategies that were going to keep me lean and toned without ever stepping foot in the gym.
Now a days there are so many different options to choose from.  You can get “at home” videos, you can use the great outdoors for exercise, or you can use solely your bodyweight to get in a great full body workout that requires absolutely nothing but some space and yourself…how easy is that?

Fellow fitness authors Adam Steer and Ryan Murdock (also known as The Body Weight Coaches) are pro’s in this department.  They have created full body workout routines that are fun, creative and extremely effective by using just your body weight and nothing else.  If you’re one of those people struggling to find time to fit in exercise, Adam and Ryan’s workouts may be perfect for you.

  1. Failing to plan, is planning to fail.  No, I did not come up with that saying myself, but I find it to be SO incredibly true in every aspect of my life.  Not only does it make a huge difference in accomplishing my health and fitness goals, but it’s also true about my work and what I want to accomplish in this lifetime. 
If I try and just “wing it” each day, I get absolutely nothing done, just spinning my wheels all day and letting the day take me wherever it wants.  Not only that, but if I haven’t created a plan for my eating on that day, I get to each meal starving and NOT having easy and healthy options available to me.  Can you imagine how frustrating that kind of a day would be?  Unfortunately many people go through their day exactly in that way and then wonder why they don’t ever get anything done and can’t make the right food choices at each meal.

Now imagine a day where you had your healthy food planned out and you knew what delicious and healthy food items you had available in your kitchen, as well as at the locations around you (on the days I don’t have time to cook, I have to know where I can still get healthy meals at the restaurants and supermarkets close by).  You also had a game plan set up for accomplishing some exercise….maybe just some squats at your desk, a walk at lunchtime, or some bodyweight exercises at home while you play with your kids.  Whatever the best choice is for you, put it firmly on your calendar for that day and that will be the easiest way to get it done.

Before we move on to the last 4 “easy to do’s” take a look at what the missing link may be in accomplishing your own weight loss and health goals.  It may just be 1 very simple step that can make all the difference in the world.
