This week we’ve been spending some time determining exactly what the best workout option is for you. In the past 2 newsletters, I’ve shared my own personal process for ensuring that my workouts are SPECIFIC to my goals, my body and my lifestyle.
Let’s quickly recap the first 3 steps.
Step 1: Ask yourself, “
What is my ultimate goal with this workout program?” Step 2: Determine
“how much time do I have to dedicate to my workouts?” Step 3: Ask yourself,
“Where is the most convenient place for me to exercise?” If you missed any of those newsletters, you can
read them here on Beyond Diet.
Today we’ll finish up with the last 2 steps.
Step 4:
“What do I really enjoy doing?” Listen, if you really hate going to the gym…DON’T GO. Seriously. This is a mistake I see people making all the time…they absolutely hate everything about gyms, but they still continue to “make themselves” go. I understand there are going to be many times when we have to do things that we don’t want to do, but with the endless number of exercise options, why force yourself to do something you absolutely hate?
If the gym is just not your scene, you can always…
- Join a local exercise group that walks, runs, or works out together.
- Go to your local park with your kids and run around like you’re 5 years old again.
- Get some fun exercise videos and workout In your own living room.
- Although I don’t have one, I know a lot of people who love those “exercise video games” and have gotten in incredible shape “playing video games”...hahaha.
If the thought of going into the gym immediately makes you cringe, skip it all together and find something that makes you happy and you can look forward to.
Step 5:
Figure out what’s NOT working. Have you been doing the same thing over and over again with absolutely no results (some would call that insanity)? If the answer is Yes, you’re not alone. I’ve seen firsthand, the same people go to the gym day in and day out and look exactly the same from one year to the next. I’m not knocking anyone that puts in a good effort, but if you’re going to spend that much time out of your life exercising, you might as well see some positive changes in your body
right?
I would highly encourage you to investigate and look into other workout options to find a plan that may be better suited for you.
I sent you this article yesterday, but I wanted to be sure you got a chance to take a look at it because it’s really that important. There are certain exercises that you may be doing that are actually preventing you from seeing any fat loss results...7 exercises specifically and they are all listed here:
>> 7 Fat Gaining exercises <-- avoid these
I know it may sound strange that these 7 exercises can actually cause weight gain, but if you’re wasting your valuable time on these exercises, and not focusing on
metabolism enhancing exercises then you’re significantly reducing the value of your workout.
