Beyond Diet Newsletter If you're having a hard time deciding exactly what the best exercise program is for you, be sure to keep up with our newsletters this week. They will definitely help you get FOCUSED! Yesterday I shared with you the process I personally use to figure out exactly that best workout program for me. Specifically, it’s a series of 5 questions that I take myself through to determine what strategy is going to get me the best results and reach my goals the fastest. I shared the first 2 steps in yesterday’s newsletter. If you missed those, you can read it again here. Your own Personal workout plan – Part 1 Be sure to cover Step 1 and 2 before moving on to the next very important question (trust me, you’ll be so glad you took the time to do this). Step 3: Ask yourself, “Where is the most convenient place for me to exercise?” This is something I really learned the hard way when my first son was born. I was under the impression that I was still going to be able to go to the gym first thing in the morning like I always had. WRONG! My day now revolved around feedings and naps and I had to really adjust my plans for the day accordingly. What I figured out was the only way I was going to be able to exercise was to get a few items for the house (exercise ball, bands and some hand weights) and exercise while my son took naps. Getting to the gym was just too much of a production and very unrealistic for me at that time. There are so many different ways you can incorporate exercise into your day...going to the gym is NOT the only option. You can: - Grab a coworker and walk during lunch or head to the gym together.
- Set up a small space in your house with the items I mentioned above and get in a great workout with minimal equipment.
- Choose a program that only calls for body weight exercises and do it anytime, anywhere.
- Exercise with your children outside (or even inside).
The biggest mistake many people make is thinking they have to make it to the gym to get in a great workout. For me, I will continue to do my workouts at home, because now having 2 kids means my time is even more limited. Once they get a bit older, my options may be different, so I will continue to adjust to whatever is the best and most convenient option for my current lifestyle.
