Use this strategy to increase your Metabolism

 A very important part of my job is ensuring that you not only have all the  information you need to maximize your weight loss results, but that you are able to understand all of the information you have. Many times, health and fitness info can get a little too technical and sound like a bunch of scientific mumbo jumbo, so today I am going to clear up one little bit of "mumbo jumbo".
 
"Isabel, what does it mean to train my nervous system? I thought exercise had to do with muscles and burning fat. I don't get what nerves have to do with it."
 
Questions like these really get on my nerves..hahaha.just kidding! (I just couldn't help myself).

Your nervous system is comprised of all the nerves in your body. Each nerve has the ability to control several different muscles at one time. The more muscles you work at one time, the more calories you'll burn. The more calories you burn, the more fat you will burn during that workout. So if 1 nerve has the ability to get several different muscles working, it is in your best interest to stimulate as many nerves as possible, therefore, using as many muscles as possible to burn as many calories as possible. Does that make sense?
 
For example, if you mentally go through an exercise in your head, start to finish, before you do it, you can activate 30% more muscle with every exercise (really use that mental focus!) Then, if you do a weight-bearing exercise (for example do a squat instead of a leg extension sitting on a machine) you can get up to 7x more muscle involved in just one exercise.

This combination can produce much faster fat loss. 
 
I realize that's only a very basic explanation of this very important theory, and just 1 part of it.
